GENERAL INFORMATION

The Ogun State Polytechnic of Health and Allied Sciences, Ilese-Ijebu was established in September, 1976 to train middle—level manpower for the delivery of Health Care Services. Thus becoming the first post-secondary educational institution in the State.

In April 2006, the Governor of the State graciously signed the bill establishing the College into law making the College to assume a full Polytechnic status. The College programmes/courses are regulated by National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and various professional health Boards/Councils which makes our training unique and holistic in health promotion. The College over the years had graduated top quality middle – level manpower for the delivery of health service in Ogun State particularly and Nigeria as a whole.

The College offers programmes/courses at Certificates, National Diplomas (NDs) and Higher National Diploma (HNDs) levels with emphasis on primary health and other health related areas.

  1. DIPLOMA IN HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (HIM) (TECHNICIAN PROGRAMME)

    DURATION
    3 Years
    REQUIREMENT
    Four (4) ‘O’ Level Credit passes including English Language, Biology, Mathematics and either Physics or Chemistry and any other subject at SSCE by WAEC or NECO or NABTEB in not more than two (2) sittings.

  2. DIPLOMA IN HEALTH PROMOTION AND EDUCATION

    DURATION
    2 Years
    REQUIREMENT
    Five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit passes in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or Grade II in not more than two (2) sittings - English Language, Mathematics and Chemistry or Biology/Health Science and any other one (1) subject.

  3. DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER SCIENCE

    DURATION
    2 Years
    REQUIREMENT
    Four (4) ‘O’ Level Credit Passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any other subject at SSCE by WAEC and NECO.

  4. NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) IN HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT

    DURATION
    2 Years
    REQUIREMENT
    Five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and any other relevant subject at SSCE by WAEC or NECO.

  5. HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) IN HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (HIM)

    DURATION
    2 Years
    REQUIREMENT
    In addition to the specific entry requirement mentioned above, 
    A. National Diploma/Professional Diploma (Technician) Certificate in Health Information    Management with a minimum of Lower Credit
    B. National Diploma/Professional (Technician) Professional License to practice by HRORBN
    C. Evidence of completion of One year relevant work experience in accredited Health Institution approved by the Board for National Diploma Candidates only.
    D. Candidates with a pass (CGPA 2.00 - 2.49) at the ND level with two (2) or more years post ND Cognate Work Experience
