GENERAL INFORMATION

The Ogun State Polytechnic of Health and Allied Sciences, Ilese-Ijebu was established in September, 1976 to train middle—level manpower for the delivery of Health Care Services. Thus becoming the first post-secondary educational institution in the State.

In April 2006, the Governor of the State graciously signed the bill establishing the College into law making the College to assume a full Polytechnic status. The College programmes/courses are regulated by National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and various professional health Boards/Councils which makes our training unique and holistic in health promotion. The College over the years had graduated top quality middle – level manpower for the delivery of health service in Ogun State particularly and Nigeria as a whole.

The College offers programmes/courses at Certificates, National Diplomas (NDs) and Higher National Diploma (HNDs) levels with emphasis on primary health and other health related areas.

  1. DIPLOMA IN DENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN (Leading to the award of Diploma in Dental Health Technician)

    DURATION
    3 Years
    REQUIREMENT
    Four (4) ‘O’ Level Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Biology and either Chemistry/Physic at WAEC or NECO in not more than two (2) sittings.

  2. NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) IN DENTAL TECHNOLOGY

    DURATION
    2 Years
    REQUIREMENT
    Five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at the SSCE or GCE by WAEC or NECO in not more than two (2) sittings.

  3. NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) IN DENTAL THERAPY

    DURATION
    2 Years
    REQUIREMENT
    Five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at the SSCE or GCE by WAEC or NECO in not more than two (2) sittings. In addition to the above requirements, Diploma in Dental Surgery Techniques is also considered for admission into ND II of Dental Therapy.

  4. HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) IN DENTAL TECHNOLOGY

    DURATION
    2 Years
    REQUIREMENT
    Holders of National Diploma (ND) in Dental Technology with at least lower credit. In additional to Five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at the SSCE or GCE by WAEC or NECO in not more than two (2) sittings.

  5. HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) IN DENTAL THERAPY

    DURATION
    2 Years
    REQUIREMENT
    Holders of National Diploma (ND) in Dental Therapy with at least lower credit. In additional to Five (5) ‘O’ Level Credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at the SSCE or GCE by WAEC or NECO in not more than two (2) sittings.
